Interleukin-35 is a member of the IL-12 cytokine family and exists as a dimeric protein composed of IL-12 p35 and IL-27EIB chains. The heterodimer has been reported to be an anti-inflammatory cytokine supressing the immune response through the expansion of regulatory T cells and suppression of Th17 cell development.
